Often times when someone says, "I hear you," what they are REALLY saying is "I see how this fits into my agenda."
There is a name for that, it's called subjective listening.
85% of the global population listens subjectively.
No, I'm not. Subjective listeners are people who are truly listening, but they then filter what they've heard through their own bias and experiences.
That's 9 out of 10 people, y'all.
No wonder we are a litigious society.
So let's talk about the other 10 % ?
As you've probably guessed, they're objective listeners. They are tuned in, listening to every word, with one goal, (and one goal only) to see the light in the other person.
